What a Year!
Can you believe that it’s nearly 2018?
Every year seems to fly past faster and faster, but this year seems to have gone by in an instant - it feels like it’s been a busier year than other years.
So here at The Collective Wine Company HQ, we got together and plotted out some of our highlights from this year gone by, and it became clear that 2017 was a seriously busy year for us.
However, we don’t think that 2017 was a blur because we were so busy; we think the year flew by because time flies while you’re having fun!
So without further ado; here are some of our favourite highlights from 2017:
Festivals, Events and Shows
More than any year before, 2017 has been our year for events and festivals.
Not just wine expos, like our USA Trade Show, but events all up and down the Australian Eastern Seaboard.
From introducing people to our wines at Taste of Sydney; to meeting other winemakers at the Sydney Good Food Wine & Show and Newcastle Food and Wine Expo; and even be a key partner at Sydney Fringe Festival; 2017 has been filled with amazing events and productions.
We’ve got plenty more on the cards for 2018; so stay tuned…
Thinking Globally - Acting Locally
In-between international shows and interstate events, we’ve had the privilege of getting on board some local causes in communities around our Sydney Head Office.
From sponsoring our local volleyball team, the Coogee Beach Volleyball Association; to donating to local events, such as White Runway; Vaniday; Tanunda Pines Golf Club; Dee Pop Up Shop; Foodora; UNSW Law Events; Clovelly School; and the Triangles Women Networking Event; it’s been great to get closer to our local community.
Spreading the Word
While our wines rely heavily on word of mouth advertising and positive reviews from people like you; you can’t stay ahead of the game in the Australian wine industry without making some noise in the marketing space.
So this year, you might have seen our wines appearing in some of Australia’s leading online and press publications.
Our Artiste range appeared in Gourmet Traveller; while Flamingo became famous, popping up in Cosmopolitan Bride, Star Observer, Smooth.com.au, Modern Wedding and The Sydney Morning Herald.
You can’t mention this year and The Collective Wine Company, without talking about our incredible collection of medals and trophies from 2017’s wine and spirits competitions.
We’re so proud of our team, and the incredible wine that we’ve produced; and like all proud parents, we could gush endlessly about their incredible accolades. However, to make it quick for you; the final tally stands at:
1 International Trophy, 1 National Trophy, 3 Double Gold Medals, 18 Gold Medals & 15 Silver Medals. And Impressionist Riesling 2017 has received Eden Valley Riesling of the Year from Melbourne International Wine Competition.
If this were the Olympics, that score would easily put us in the top five competing countries (something that our Aussie Olympic team, sadly, didn’t quite achieve in 2016)!
However, even though we’re now winding-up for 2017, we have no plans to rest on our laurels next year. We’ve got some exciting announcements and stories to share in the New Year. So have a safe and happy holiday season, and we’ll see you again in 2018!
